Description
John is an egomaniac singer. Dan is a naive guitarist. Roni is a guitar virtuoso, and Christina plays drums while raising two kids. They are the Ambulance Men, a scrappy but terrible local band, and they need a bassist.
Their old bassist, Kevin, quit to form Jumpstart Malady, the most successful rock band in twenty years. The strip follows both bands, along with the music fans and the music executives around them.
This book collects the first 150 strips of Bassist Wanted, which ran in alternative weekly papers from Buffalo to Los Angeles, right next to the music listings. They cover MySpace, touring, and a James Blunt song, and the book was nominated for Best Book at the 2009 ECNY Awards.
It’s a 9 × 7 inch paperback, 93 pages, black and white inside. Every paperback comes with the PDF.
PG-13: some language and mature themes, so adults should read through it first before handing it to a kid.
